CBFS® Direct

Give Your Applications Direct Access to Files and Disks in Your Windows Applications

cbfsdirect

Use CBFS Direct to enable your applications to directly access files or disk partitions (including hard drives and flash disks) without facing Windows-imposed restrictions. These restrictions include the prevention of application access to disks from user-mode processes, lack of access to disks from restricted accounts, and the inability to open files that are exclusively opened by another application or when security settings (permissions) don’t allow you. By providing a kernel-mode driver CBFS Direct effectively solves this problem, enabling you to read and write data to and from the disks or opened files without restrictions. CBFS Direct also allows you to delete a locked or inaccessible file by simply adding two additional function calls to your application.

Directly Access Disks in Windows XP, 7, 8.x, and 10

Enable your application to access the hard disk directly. Disk sectors can be read or written from user-mode processes, thus going around direct access ban imposed by the operating system.

Bypass File Locking and Security Restrictions

CBFS Direct allows access to files that are already open or have restricted access security settings. This significantly simplifies the implementation of backup applications.

Read or Write Disks Sector by Sector

CBFS Direct gives you the ability to write and read disks sector by sector without operating system imposed restrictions. This comes in handy for development of data recovery, undelete solutions, and forensic applications.
